In this hackathon-style project, we explore how microgrids can help communities obtain a sustainable, reliable energy supply.
789 million people around the world don’t have access to electricity – and millions more lack a reliable energy supply. Surging fuel prices worldwide are leading to energy poverty – with many households facing the choice between heating or eating this winter. At the same time, the planet faces an even larger crisis: carbon emissions are warming the atmosphere at a rapid rate. And burning fossil fuels to provide energy is one of the main contributors. This situation presents a huge opportunity for our team of experts to take real action and make a difference.
This Real Action introductory guide aims to cover the critical topics - such as identifying stakeholders, the role of regulation and policies, technology enablers and securing funding - needed for communities to obtain sustainable, reliable energy supply through microgrids.
