Advanced Distribution Protection Schemes with low-latency 5G

Summary

Advanced Distribution Protection Schemes with low-latency 5G
As distributed energy resources and complex load profiles reshape the electric grid, utilities need reliable, responsive distribution protection. Join Exelon/ComEd, EPRI and Nokia for a webinar on how low-latency 5G and LTE are enabling Advanced Distribution Protection schemes that improve grid reliability and resilience. The session explores high-speed fault detection, precise fault isolation and rapid restoration through synchronized operation of intelligent electronic devices and reclosers. Attendees will also hear about architecture considerations, deployment challenges, momentary outage reduction and a practical blueprint for deploying private LTE and 5G for low-latency utility use cases.

Topics covered

Understand how 5G/LTE enables Advanced Distribution Protection schemes

Learn use cases for high-speed fault detection and precise isolation

Explore rapid restoration using synchronized IEDs and reclosers

Gain a practical blueprint for private LTE and 5G utility use cases
