Experienced across new technology evaluations to new product introductions, from portfolio and investment optimizations to E2E evolution of communications infrastructure and AI enabled automation – all of this based on deep insights in techno-economic trade-offs. Recent activities include transformation towards cloud native architectures, realizing digitalization ambitions in Industry 4.0, and preparing for Quantum Safe communications. Azfar holds a Doctorate in Telecommunication from University College London, MBA training from London Business School, and leadership accreditation from Harvard Business School.

With a background primarily in the telecommunications industry, Ville has held various leadership positions in companies such as DNA LTD where he served as CTO and before that he was heading the Core and IP Networks unit where his extensive knowledge of various network technologies were key to DNA's development of its technical capabilities, such as transition to the era of high-speed 5G in its mobile networks that carry most data per subscriber in Europe. At the heart of Ville's actions has always been the question of which technical solutions enable the best customer experience. His work experience also includes Telia and Omnitele. Ville has a strong educational background, having engineering degree in computer engineering and telecommunication and has completed an Executive MBA from Aalto University Executive Education and Professional Development.
