During this session Nokia 3GPP experts will explain what 5G-Advanced is and how it will enable new 5G experiences, expand 5G into new use cases, extend 5G into new areas and boost 5G operational excellence. We will also cover the overall system architecture and the 5G-Advanced release schedule.
5G brought technological improvements in MBB, URLLC and mMTC. With 5G-Advanced, we will see further improvements in those areas and more, maximizing the benefits of mobile networks.

Yannick Lair

Antti Toskala is a Bell Labs Fellow who has worked with 3GPP for more than 20 years. Currently his work is focused on 5G evolution.
Matthew Baker

Matthew Baker has contributed to the standardization of UMTS/HSPA, LTE and 5G in 3GPP, including chairing 3GPP RAN1. His current technical focus is on 5G-Advanced, and he leads Nokia’s radio performance and coexistence standardization. He was appointed a Distinguished Member of Technical Staff in 2013, having graduated from the University of Cambridge in 1996 and served as a Visiting Professor at the University of Reading.
Sari Nielsen

Sari Nielsen received the M.Sc. degree in Radio Communications from Helsinki University of Technology (now Aalto University), Espoo, Finland in 1996. She is a Nokia Distinguished Member of Technical Staff and currently leading Nokia’s radio protocol standardization. She has contributed to HSPA, LTE and 5G radio standardization, research and development.
