Muhammad Ali Imran is Fellow IET, Senior Member IEEE, Senior Fellow HEA. He is Dean University of Glasgow UESTC and a Professor of Wireless Communication Systems leading a group of 100+ researchers working in wide ranging technologies in devices and systems for communications.
He has over 20 years of combined academic and industry experience with several leading roles in multi-million pounds funded projects. He has filed 15 patents; has authored/co-authored over 400 journal and conference publications; has authored 2 books, edited 8 books and authored more than 30 book chapters; has successfully supervised over 40 students at Doctoral level. He has been a consultant to international projects and local companies in the area of self-organised networks.
Hamid Falaki
Technical Consultant – Smart internet Lab
University of Bristol
Dr Hamid Falaki is a telecommunications consultant at the Smart Internet Lab, providing technical services for coordination, delivery, operation, maintenance and expansion of the 5GUK Test Network at University of Bristol.
He has 30+ years’ experience in the telecoms and energy sector. His Current interest is creation of new business opportunities through niche communication services and Network Architecture with many international patents within the telecommunication industry.
Gerard Donahue

As CTO at Telent since early 2015, Gerard provides extensive knowledge of the current and emerging technologies trends required to deliver digital transformation initiatives such as Industry 4.0.
Gerard has over 30 years’ experience in the ICT and Telecommunications market starting out as a field service engineer. His knowledge has been gained across a broad range of technologies, from maintaining mainframes, building and operating client server environments to, designing IP communication networks.

Suparno Banerjee is Vice President of Government and Cities for Nokia Global Enterprise. In this role he leads a global team that shapes Nokia’s vertical segment strategy as well as business development efforts. Suparno and his team drive Nokia’s solutions and thought leadership in products, services and new business models related to connectivity, IoT, and analytics to enable digital transformation of cities and public sector agencies. The team also develops initiatives that extend Nokia’s value proposition to emerging areas, create new partnership models and for Nokia, expand its markets and drive long-term revenue growth.
Prior to joining Nokia, Suparno was Vice President of Hewlett Packard Enterprise’s (HPE) Public Sector Industry and was responsible for HPE’s Public Sector business.
