Nokia Threat Intelligence Report - Market Update

The malware landscape has changed in the last six months with mobile device malware infections surging in the first half of 2016.

Consumers increasingly worry about how secure their PC’s, tablets and smartphones are and with reason. According to the latest edition of the Nokia Threat Intelligence Report, in particular:

• Smartphone malware infections rose 96 percent in the first half of 2016

• Smartphones account for 78 percent of all mobile infections

• Mobile malware is becoming progressively more sophisticated and harder to detect and uninstall.

The Nokia Threat Intelligence Report is published by the Nokia Threat Intelligence Lab and powered by the Nokia NetGuard Endpoint Security solution which has been deployed in major fixed and mobile networks around the world and monitors network traffic from more than 100 million devices. Using aggregated data from across the networks where our malware detection solutions are deployed, the report examines general trends and statistics for malware infections in devices.
